Abstract: Improved understanding of lampyrid beetles in Switzerland and observation of Luciola lusitanica Charpentier, 1825 in Geneva (Coleoptera, Lampyridae). – Five species of Lampyridae are present in Switzerland. While Lampyris noctiluca, Lamprohiza splendidula, Phosphaenus hemipterus and Luciola italica have long been known, the presence of Luciola lusitanica is confirmed here for the first time. The recent capture of specimens in Geneva, probably the result of introductions, demonstrates the presence of this species in Switzerland. The distribution of all species of lampyrid beetles in Switzerland, information about their biology and the history of different regional introductions are discussed.

Résumé: Cinq espèces de Lampyridae sont présentes en Suisse. Si Lampyris noctiluca, Lamprohiza splendidula, Phosphaenus hemipterus et Luciola italica sont attestés de longue date, la présence de Luciola lusitanica est désormais aussi confirmée. La capture récente de spécimens genevois, dont la présence résulte vraisemblablement d’introductions, démontre l’existence de cette espèce dans notre pays. La distribution de toutes les espèces de Lampyridae suisses, des éléments sur leur biologie et un historique des différentes introductions régionales sont apportés dans cet article.

Zusammenfassung: Über Leuchtkäfer (Coleoptera, Lampyridae) in der Schweiz und Nachweis von Luciola lusitanica (Charpentier, 1825) in Genf. – In der Schweiz kommen fünf Leuchtkäfer-Arten vor. Lampyris noctiluca, Lamprohiza splendidula, Phosphaenus hemipterus und Luciola italica sind seit Langem in der Schweiz nachgewiesen. Kürzlich wurden im Kanton Genf auch einige Individuen von Luciola lusitanica entdeckt. Diese Tiere wurden vermutlich unabsichtlich eingeführt. Die geografische Verbreitung aller Schweizer Lampyridae-Arten, Aspekte ihrer Biologie und Berichte von den verschiedenen regionalen Einführungen werden vorgestellt.
