We present an updated list of Ciidae for Switzerland, based on identifying and checking of specimens in museums and private collections as well as new field records and literature searches. Compared to the Catalogue of Palaearctic Coleoptera (Jelinek in Löbl & Smetana 2008) the number of species recorded in Switzerland increased from 26 to 41. First records for Switzerland are presented for Xylographus bostrichoides (Dufour. 1843), Orthocis linearis (J. R. Sahlberg. 1901) and Orthocis coluber (Abeille de Perrin. 1874a). We consider the previously published occurrence of Orthocis pseudolinearis Lohse, 1965, as doubtful. Species names follow mostly the Catalogue of Palaearctic Coleoptera but we consider Orthocis reflexicollis as correct instead of Orthocis lucasi. Occurrence in the different cantons and biogeographic regions is mentioned for all species. For rare species more detailed information on the records is published. In addition, information on the ecological niche and preferred host fungi is given.
