Abstract: Addendum to the Hydrophiloidea species checklist of Switzerland: Helophorus nanus Sturm, 1836 (Coleoptera: Helophoridae). − Helophorus nanus Sturm, 1836 was not included on the 2023 checklist of the Hydrophiloidea of Switzerland. Although this species was mentioned for Switzerland in the past, historical literature citations were not supported by specimens in collections. In this note, we present proof of its presence in Switzerland based on specimens collected in 2023 in the canton of Schaffhausen.

Abstract: Aeletes atomarius (Aubé, 1842) (Coleoptera, Histeridae), a new species for the Swiss fauna. − Surveys carried out in 2022 and 2023 in the north and west of Switzerland resulted in the capture of several specimens of Aeletes atomarius, a discreet micro-Histeridae that was not considered indigenous to Switzerland until now. Histeridae are currently represented by 79 species in Switzerland.

These captures represent the first two valid occurrences of this species in Switzerland. This species, which is very rare and exhibits a patchy distribution in central Europe, is considered a relict of primeval forests. A.
